SOX Reaction

First of all, to give you a brief introduction about SOX here's what sox means.

SOX stands for Sarbanes-Oxley, which is a federal law that originated in the United State and can be defined as self control. As what the speaker, Mr. Sia stated, wearing a seatbelt in your car is actually within the scope of SOX. If you come to think of it, in the Philippines people who ride the car only wear seatbelts only if they are in the driver's seat or in the passenger's seat. Those riding in the back seat of the car don't usually or rather never wear a seatbelt. That's the way it is here in the philippines. In the United States, the people who ride the car there always wear seatbelt even if they are seated in the back of the car. So basically this is an example of the SOX law. For me, the advantages I see is that it is a law that people would benefit from because they would be able to get protection. So I think that it is a good law.

In my opinion, I think that it would be good to have a SOX law implemented in the Philippines, because many people would be benefiting from it. Because as we have discussed that here in our country, people only wear seatbelts when they are in the front seat of the car, but not in the back. If we implement a SOX law, then people riding in the back of the car will wear seatbelts. Of course most of us think that it is a hassle, but it is for our won good and the greater good. So, I think that it would be really nice if a SOX law would be implemented in our country. Although I am half and half about the law because this would decrease the number of seating in the back of the car. Usually, filipinos tend to load passengers in the back over the maximum amount of seating. So, I think that this would not benefit the people who have only one small car like a sedan. So, I think it depends. If ever it would be implemented, I woudn't reject it but accept it because it has its benefits.
